Welcome. Thank you for choosing to worship with us today. We
invite you to sign the pew pad as they are being passed. Restrooms
are located downstairs in Roan Hall. We hope that the service is a

Congregational Meeting. There will be a brief Congregational
Meeting at the end of today’s worship service. The purpose of the
meeting is to elect a new class of Elders and Deacons. Please see
the insert about the nominated officers in today’s bulletin.
Time for Fellowship. Please join us for a Time for Fellowship today
after our worship service. This is an informal time where we can
share refreshments and conversations with one another.
2018 Offering Envelopes. The 2018 Offering Envelopes are on a
table in the back of the sanctuary. Please remember to stop in the
back and pick up your box of envelopes. If you would like envelopes
but do not see your name, please contact the church office. Also,
contact the office if you need your box of envelopes mailed to you.
Family Promise/IHN. From Dec. 3-10, Stewartsville Presbyterian
Church hosted five guests who are experiencing homelessness.
Seventeen members of our congregation, Boy Scout Troop #61, and
additional people helped with making meals, providing hospitality,
and sleeping over at the church. Thank you to everyone who helped
with this important ministry! The next week we are scheduled to host
is March 4-11, 2018.
No Sunday School. There will be no Sunday School on Sunday,
Dec. 24 and Sunday, Dec. 31. Sunday School for ages 3 through
adults will resume at 9:20 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018.
Poinsettias. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin for information
on ordering Poinsettias for our Christmas Eve worship service.
Christmas Cookie Exchange. Our Annual Christmas Cookie
Exchange will be held at 9:45 a.m. next Sunday, Dec. 17. For more
information on how to participate in this fun and tasty activity, please
see the insert in today’s bulletin.
Christmas Caroling. Everyone is invited to go caroling after
worship next Sunday, Dec. 17. We will sing Christmas carols to our
homebound members, and we will also deliver cookies to them. If
you plan on attending, please speak with Pastor Stephen.
“Pajama Sunday.” We encourage everyone to come to church in
comfortable clothing for our 10:30 a.m. “Pajama Sunday” worship
service on Sunday, Dec. 24. We will have a Hymn Sing during the
service, so come prepared to request your favorite hymns and offer
up your voice in song!
Christmas Eve Worship Service. Please join us for our Christmas
Eve Worship Service at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24.
Holy Communion will be celebrated during this service of Lessons
Christmas Joy Offering. We are receiving the Christmas Joy
Offering throughout the Advent season. There is a special envelope
in your box of offering envelopes. By giving to the Christmas Joy
Offering, you will be helping families of active and retired church
workers, and providing opportunities for education.
Prospective New Members If you are interested in learning more
about the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church or in becoming a
member, please contact the church office, or speak with Pastor
Stephen. We will receive new members on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018.
Pray for this Week’s Mission Partners: Johnsonburg Camp &
Retreat Center. In 1959, Johnsonburg Camp & Retreat Center was
established to provide experiential Christian education in support of
the Presbyterian Church in New Jersey. Today, Camp Johnsonburg
continues to provide a place set apart where all people can
experience God’s love within a welcoming Christian community.
Stewartsville Presbyterian Church has been supporting Johnsonburg
Camp & Retreat Center since it was first established.
Adult Lunch Group. “Grazing with Grace,” the Adult Lunch Group,
will meet this Thursday, Dec. 14, at 11:30 a.m. at Sports Scene,
located at Oakwood Lanes, 234 Route 31, Washington. We will be
having a Christmas gift exchange. If you would like to participate,
please bring a wrapped gift valued at around $10. We are also
encouraging everyone to bring a can of soup or $1 to the lunch to
donate to NORWESCAP Food Bank.

Friday Devotional Group. The Friday Devotional Group meets
every Friday at 7:15 a.m. at Panera. This is a time for women and
men to gather together at the end of each week for study and
fellowship. We are reading the book “Devotional Classics” by
For Friday, Dec. 15, we will discuss the chapter “G.K. Chesterton:
A Magical Universe,” pages 333-338. We will not meet on Dec. 22
and Dec. 29. We will resume meeting on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.
Books are available on the table in the back of the sanctuary. For

2018 Pledge Cards. If you have not already turned in your 2018
Pledge Card and Time & Talent Sheet, please place them in the
offering plate or send them to the church office before the end of
December. Additional Pledge Cards and Time & Talent Sheets are
available on the table in the back of the sanctuary.
2017 Giving Statements. Offering received by Sunday, Dec. 31, will
be counted toward your 2017 Giving Statement. Offering received
after that date will count toward your 2018 statement.
Church Parking. If you are able, please consider parking further
away from the church. This will assist those who need to park closer.

2018 Youth Mission Trip. Our Youth Summer Mission Trip will be
to Houston, TX, from July 7-14, 2018. The mission trip is for those
currently in the eighth grade or older. During our week, we will assist
those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
