Welcome. Thank you for choosing to worship with us today. We invite you to sign the pew pad as they are being passed. Restrooms are located downstairs in Roan Hall. We hope that the service is a blessing to you, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Annual Congregational Meeting. Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held next Sunday, Jan. 26, immediately following the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
Copies of the 2019 Annual Report are available today on the table in the back of the sanctuary.
After the meeting, we will join together for a Soup and Chili Pot Luck Luncheon. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin for information on signing up for the lunch. We are also encouraging the congregation to bring a can of soup to donate to the Catholic Charities Food Pantry.
Family Promise/IHN Host Week. We will be hosting families experiencing homelessness in our church from Jan. 26 – Feb. 2. We are in need of help for a variety of responsibilities. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin for more information.
Souper Bowl of Caring. The youth will be collecting canned soup and cash donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring at the end of the worship service on Sunday, Feb. 2. Monetary donations will go to the NORWESCAP Food Bank, and soup donations will go to the Catholic Charities Food Pantry.
Per Capita Offering. Per Capita is “the tie that binds” and unites the entire church in the ongoing and essential work that guides the Office of the General Assembly, the life of the Presbyterian Church, and benefits every congregation and every mid council ministry. Per Capita provides the means to strengthen the connection of our work, and builds lasting relationships to help all Presbyterians share God’s love through mission and ministry. The Per Capita apportionment for 2020 is $39 per confirmed member.
Please prayerfully consider contributing your portion so that it does not come out of our General Fund Budget. Our church pays Per Capita for each of our members, regardless of whether or not you give. Please make checks payable to Stewartsville Presbyterian Church, marked “Per Capita.” There is an envelope for Per Capita in your 2020 box.
Inclement Weather. If you are unsure if we will be worshipping on a Sunday when there is severe inclement weather, please call the church at 908-859-1399. There will be a special outgoing message if Sunday School or worship is cancelled. You can also check the church website at www.stewartsvillepc.org
In addition, any closings will also be announced on wfmz.com and may be displayed on Channel 69 News.
Church Parking. If you are able, please consider parking further away from the church. This will assist those who need to park closer. Thank you in advance for your help and understanding.
Pray for This Week’s Mission Partner: Johnsonburg Camp & Retreat Center. In 1959, Johnsonburg Camp & Retreat Center was established to provide experiential Christian education in support of the Presbyterian Church in New Jersey. Today, Camp Johnsonburg continues to provide a place set apart where all people can experience God’s love within a welcoming Christian community. Stewartsville Presbyterian Church has been supporting Johnsonburg Camp & Retreat Center since it was first established.
Thank You Note. We received the following thank you note from Lynne Cox of the Warren Local Office of the New Jersey Division of Children Protection and Permanency (formerly DYFS), in response to our Giving Tree collection at Christmas:
“We wish to extend a sincere thank you for your generous donation of 45 gifts and gift cards. We provided gifts to a record amount of families this holiday season. All of your help was greatly appreciated and we could not have done it without your support.”
