Congregational Meeting. There will be a brief Congregational Meeting after the worship service on Sunday, Dec. 8. The purpose of the meeting is to elect a new class of Elders and Deacons.
The Giving Tree. Our “Giving Tree” is set up in the back of the sanctuary.
There are tags on the tree indicating information about a child in need (age, size, and interests) from the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (formerly DYFS). Also, gift cards in any amount are always appreciated.
By choosing a tag, you will have the opportunity to purchase a gift or two to help make that child’s Christmas a little brighter!
The deadline for returning unwrapped gifts is Sunday, Dec. 8.
Church Office Closed. The church office will be closed this Friday,
Nov. 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular office hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Pastor Stephen’s day off is Tuesday.
Hanging of the Greens. Help is needed for the annual “Hanging of the Greens” on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 9:00 a.m. We will be decorating the sanctuary, and putting up and decorating the Christmas tree.
The Fellowship Committee will provide bagels, donuts, and beverages.

Christmas Cookie Exchange. Our Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. For more information on how to participate in this fun and tasty activity, please see the insert in today’s bulletin. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, Dec. 8.
Christmas Caroling. Everyone is invited to go caroling after worship on Sunday, Dec. 15. We will sing Christmas carols to our homebound members, and we will also deliver cookies to them. If you plan on attending, please speak with Pastor Stephen or
Allison de Haas.
Family Promise/IHN Host Week. We will be hosting families experiencing homelessness in our church from Dec. 15-22. We are in need of help for a variety of responsibilities. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin for more information.
Poinsettias. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin for information on ordering Poinsettias for our Christmas Eve worship service.
Pray for This Week’s Mission Partner: Catholic Charities Food Pantry. The Catholic Charities Food Pantry in Phillipsburg is a safety net to individuals and families with limited resources who search for the everyday means of sustenance – food. The food pantry is the largest in Warren County, servicing more than 1,000 households. The food pantry maintains an inventory of the recommended dietary nutrients of grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy and protein products. We donate food to Catholic Charities through our “Food on the First” collection each month.
Adult Lunch Group. “Grazing with Grace,” the Adult Lunch Group, will hold their Christmas luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 12, at

Food on the First. On the first Sunday of each month, everyone is encouraged to bring in food donations for the Catholic Charities Food Pantry in Phillipsburg. There is a box in the back of the sanctuary where the food may be placed.
At this time, the food pantry is in particular need of peanut butter and jelly, canned vegetables, soup, and tuna fish.
The Food Pantry also needs plastic and paper grocery bags. Please leave those in the same box as the food in the back of the sanctuary.
New Year’s Bible Challenge. Members and friends of the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church are encouraged to read the New Testament throughout the course of 2019.
During the month of December, we will read Revelation.
Christmas Joy Offering. We will be receiving the Christmas Joy Offering throughout the Advent season. By giving to the Christmas Joy Offering, you will be helping families of active and retired church workers, and providing opportunities for education.
Please use the special envelope in your box of envelopes, or write a check and put “Christmas Joy” on the memo line.
